Jjavedra

While largely regarded as a myth amongst human spacers, who regard the unexplored expanses of empty space between the Spur's inhabited systems with apprehension, tall tales of the utterly alien Jjavedra are becomingly increasingly common in recent years.  Shellshocked freighter or exploratory crews will tell of bizarre, conch-like ships with no comprehensible drive signature that hounded them like predators, and disgorged spiderlike nightmares upon unsuspecting spacers if their travel was ever interdicted.  While the veracity of these claims is dubious at best; never-before-seen patterns of advanced Ativari warcruiser have been witnessed herding the ships of other species away from otherwise-inconsequential 'exclusion zones', and engaged in dogged pursuit of unidentified vessels matching the mythological description, but wresting information regarding these incidents from the violently insular Conclave is otherwise impossible.
